American depository receipts of European stocks were 0.01% higher at 135.85 on the Bank of New York Mellon Europe ADR Index on Wednesday morning. Gainers in Continental Europe were led by Edap (EDAP), a French medical devices developer,1.8% higher, followed by Oasmia Pharmaceutical (OASM), up by 1.7% and STMicroelectronics – New York Shares (STM), an Italian semiconductor company, up by 1.4% and Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson (ERIC), a telecommunication company, 1.3% higher.
In the UK, Avadel (AVDL), a specialty pharmaceutical company, was 2.3% higher, followed by low-cost airline Ryanair (RYAAY), up by 2.1% and Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS), trading 1.3% higher. WPP (WPPGY), an advertising agency, was 1.1% higher. Decliners in Continental Europe were led by argenx (ARGX), a Netherlands-based biopharmaceutical company, 2.0% lower, followed by Deutsche Bank – Global Registered Shares (DB), 1.6% lower. Nokia (NOK), a technology investor, was down by 1.5% and Advanced Accelorator Appications (AAAP), a radiopharmaceutical company, was 0.8% lower.
